Mavericks

On Sat. we went to Mavericks because the tide was really low, but little did I know that the whole population of Northern California would be there too.  I guess if it's advertised on Yahoo, it's on a Sat., and it's a free thing to do, then everyone will be there.  Besides that it was a fun little trip to check out some sea life.

Girl's first trip to the dentist

Last week Mase and I took the girls to the dentist for the 1st time.  I was kind of dreading it because I thought they'd freak out or something, but they were both really great!  Miya went first and Emi got to watch.  The dentists were great and so nice.  We'd definitely suggest them to anybody looking for a family dentist.
Emi in the hot seat.

Miya with the cool sunglasses they let her wear while she got her teeth cleaned.

So, Miya actually had a cavity...boo hoo...I took her in yesterday for her filling and she once again amazed me!  She didn't cry or fuss or give the dentist a hard time.  She said she didn't like the feeling after they gave her the Novocain shot, but that it didn't hurt.  I just wish taking the girls to the doctors was this easy.

Ending Product

So I forgot to take a picture of my yummy ending product, but this is what it looked like before I ate it.  It was the best Uni I've had in a long time...So fresh the sea urchin was still moving...I love it love it love it!

Sea Urchin...Yummy Uni

I went shopping today at Ranch 99 (it's an asian market for those who don't know).  Anyways, I love looking at all the different sea food and I came across some live Sea Urchin.  Inside this sea urchin is a Japanese delicacy used to make sushi, called UNI...it's my favorite.  To make a long story short, it was cheap and I've always wanted to try and cut a sea urchin open and get the uni out myself, so I bought one and cut it open and took out the Uni, which I will be making into sushi later today.

Visited the Fire Station

Yesterday, we had a cute little field trip to the fire station with our fun Berkeley friends.  Miya was so scared once we got there.  Seriously, she was crying so hard and kept saying, "I want to go home, I'll go to my room and shut the door."  I felt so bad, but I assured her that she had nothing to be scared of.  Once we met the firemen and they showed us their trucks, Miya started to warm up.  Emi , on the other hand, was fine the whole time, but was worried about Miya.  Finally, when Emi went inside to drive the Fire Truck, Miya was loving it.  They passed out hats and badges.  By the end, it turned out fun!  After the field trip, I asked Miya why she was so scared and she said, "I thought there was a big fire in the building."  I really hope she didn't think that I would let her go into a building of fire.
