Last night, Emi was playing around with her little kitty stuffed animal and her tights. Next thing I knew, she had put her cat in her tights and put in on her head and said,
This is a little late posting this, but with Halloween being tomorrow, I figured you all might enjoy seeing our family dressed like Fancy Nancy's family (From the Children's Book). Last Friday was our ward Halloween party and everyone dresses up! I don't think one person at the party knew what we were, but Miya and Emi loved it, so I think it was a great last minute costume.
For FHE tonight we carved our $1 pumpkins that we got at the Village pumpkin sale. We teamed up...the girls drew the faces and Mase and I did the carving.
Mase and the girls carving pumpkins
Mase showing Miya the ropes on how to carve a pumpkin.
An activity that really brought the girls together.
I came across this picture from my friend's facebook account and it brought back great memories of when Kyla (my sister-in-law) lived in Hawaii and when we'd get together with our buddies....GOOD TIMES!
China Beach in San Francisco was beautiful today. The girls had a blast and after Daddy went in the water Miya wanted to too. She loved it despite the cold and went in over and over again. Emi also joined in by sitting in the surf and laughing. It was freezing cold water but beautiful sunny weather. A nice burger and vanilla coke after at the 50's diner topped it all off.
You know, living here in Berkeley we have become more "green," more aware of the environment and the energy crisis. This is why Miya's recent introduction of an innovative form of transportation so excited us. I am not sure if it is pure arm and leg-powered or if it is hybrid and switches to flatulence but either way Miya was really scooting across the kitchen floor in her new Model-T tupperware car. It can be a little drafty in the back but we recommend everyone switch to Miya's idea.
Last night we got to go the Rock Band Live Concert with Dashboard Confessionals, and of course, Panic at the Disco. Brendon did an amazing job once again! Here are a couple pics that I took.
Our friends: Rob, Sharon, Mike, and Bille
One of my favorite part of the concert when Brendon went from playing the piano to...
So, I figured I'd be sore after running this marathon, but 3 days after??? I've never been this sore after running ever! I've been sore after doing tons of squats and lungs, but that pain only lasts about one day, 2 days tops. The pain is gradually going away, but I really wasn't expecting to be so sore, at least I didn't get any blisters on my feet...maybe the puddles in my shoes helped.
Well, I finally accomplished my goal of running a marathon (that's 26.2 miles for those who don't know). Rachel Yeates, Kendra Huffman, and I ran the whole St. George Marathon together. I gave it my all and surprisingly felt pretty great at the end. Our chip time was 4 hours and 17 mins. The weather was horrible. It was raining and windy and freezing the whole way. We were so cold that even our butt cheeks were numb. BUT, even through it all we finished it and even beat our goal time of 4:30. Thank you for all those who supported us. A BIG thanks to Steve and Pier for driving us to the starting line, letting Kendra and I crash at your home, and for all your hospitality. Most of all Thank you to my hubby who stayed home with the girls this weekend and numerous days, so I could train and run this marathon ( I love you Mase).
