I gave Miya and Emi hair cuts on Sat. Well, it started off with just trimming Emi's hair then Miya insisted that I cut her hair short like Emi's too. I was really hesitant to cut Miya's long beautiful hair, but I remembered being young and wanted to cut my hair short too, but my mom wouldn't let me. After all, kid's hair seems to grow at an extremely fast rate, so I cut Miya's hair. Here are some pictures to prove it.
Emi's doesn't really look different, but....

It's VERY CUTE! And your right, it grows fast if she wants it long again. I agree too with "allowing" her the freedom to have it short if she wants too. It's important for them to feel like they have a say in things like that.

p.p.s. after reading erin's comment and thinking about being a kid and letting them have their freedom let me just say this....DO NOT let them cut it super short... at Fantastic Sam's...like a boy...and before they have boobs...I wish I wouldn't have done that. lol.
