So I intended to post twice a week for the month of December, but time has flown by and it's already the 13th, so here's my best at catching up.
| Since the 1st of December, it has been snowing, which has definitely helped make it feel more like Christmas. I hope it sticks around for the whole month, but then I hope the sun comes out because it is COLD here! |
| Here in Germany they celebrate St. Nikolaus Day on the 6th, so we thought we'd join in on the fun. ("When in Rome…") |
| The kids were pretty excited about the loot in their boot. |
| This month has not been the kindest to my baby, Ruka. A week after breaking his arm he got an ear infection. Thank goodness for antibiotics, after a day he was feeling a lot better (but still not sleeping any better…Oh I'm so sleep deprived!). |
| After 2 weeks, the cast came off! |
| All that was left was a fixed wrist and a little bruise. |
| This is part of the hospital where we brought Ruka to. Seriously, the most beautiful Hospital I've ever seen! |
| Last saturday we had our ward Christmas Party. It was an American brunch plus photos with Santa! |
| Our photo with Santa. Did we tell you all that we adopted a girl from Vietnam? ha ha j/k! Miya brought her friend Tram Ahu to the ward Christmas Party. Miya is such a great little missionary! |
| Santa gave each kid a bag full of treats. One of the treats was this large chocolate Santa. Ruka just helped himself to this. (Ruka kind of helps himself to whatever he feels like.) |
| This is a little bit of what our walk to and from Church looked like last Sunday. |
| This is what I saw when I went to pick up Emi from school the other day. I love that the kids can go sledding and build snowmen during their recesses and after school. This is definitely not the kind of school experience I had growing up. |
| Another picture of the kids at school building snowmen on the soccer field. SO FUN! |
| With all the cold snow outside, the kids have mostly been hanging out indoors. I love it when they all cuddle. |
| Mason has been working and writing a lot. Maybe the snow/cold is a good thing for him. |
| The 2nd Advent Sunday. We were invited to a family from our ward's home for the 1st advent Sunday, Mason took the girls and they had a beautiful traditional German dinner and lots of classic German Christmas treats. Ruka and I missed out because we were sick…bummer we missed out. (They did bring us home some treats though…Yummy!) |

It looks amazing. You look like you fit right in. We love and miss you. Glad Ruka is better. xo
You live such a charmed like Erika! :) Who knew, way back in elementary school that we would be the two girls living abroad, married and having a blast?! We are super blessed. Glad Ruka got his cast off and loved the photo of the kids cuddling together. That must make you the happiest momma out there when they do that!
It looks like you guys are having a blast! I hope we can come visit you guys. Loves!
I'm glad things are so good in Germany:)
I love all of these photos! Poor Ruka, it's been a tough month for him! I hope he's feeling better. How awesome is that hospital, though? I love all the updates and photos. Please keep them coming. Love and miss you all!
